A division of Zoom Media Corporation: Worldwide provider of out-of-home entertainment and advertising operations for over 3,500 worldwide installations, with offices in the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, and Canada.

 

Vice President – Technology

Recruited to turn around an underperforming department, building and leading a team of 18 internal and external resources to create, manage, and update all in-house software and database systems as well as new software and systems implementations. Act as technical liaison to satellite offices and major customers and direct the completion of all system enhancement and modification requests.

n  Identified and resolved critical functionality failures of an aging systems code base and Terabyte back-end SQL Server database. Lead team to implement enhancements, providing greater system stability and process integrity. As a result, key customers in the US, UK, Germany, Canada and Australia were retained providing for perpetuation of $500M+ in annual advertising revenue.

n  Spearheaded company’s migration and extension of advertising to the Internet and Internet connected devices which helped to capture a larger portion of the $7B local and national advertising markets.

n  Coordinated and managed data sharing and migration among several disparate localized and cloud based systems in multiple countries.  Systems included Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Great Plains, Microsoft SharePoint, eNCast and BMS.  Results provided for savings of over 12,000 man hours annually and timely capture of over $2.5B in annual advertising revenue.

n  Led team charged with converting Zoom Media’s Social Venue media players to the ClubCom player for an annual operating cost reduction of over $750,000 in annual subscription fees, accomplished under an accelerated timetable to accommodate subscription renewals of existing player systems. Created an in-field conversion utility, realizing an additional $250,000 cost avoidance.

n  Added team resources to develop, implement, and manage project plans for all major software and system development projects, enabling communication of realistic timelines of system enhancements to business users and customers and allowing sales and marketing departments to proactively market new features to prospective customers, capturing greater market share.

Below is a sampling of the projects which I personally and single-handedly accomplished.  This section is meant to convey an overall assessment of my technical and personal project management capabilities.

Large Scale Projects

n  Designed, built and implemented advanced multi-tier business intelligence information systems

o   Data warehouse utilizing SQL Server, front end applications utilizing VB.Net and C#, custom reporting utilizing Crystal Reports and MS Excel

o   Built Sales, Open to Buy, On Order Recap and OLAP business intelligence systems.

o   All advanced systems tie into an AS/400 DB2 transactional database for source data.

n  Successfully designed and developed enterprise level Decision Support System – DecisionPOC ®.

Personally responsible for design, development and implementation of new Decision Support System product.  Customer needed the product by September of 1998.  The original project plan showed completion by March of 1999.  Revised original project plan, designed a new product, developed the product from the ground up, implemented at customer site on time.  Utilized Visual Basic 5 to write the front end.  Used C for the exported Module.  Exported module implemented on a UNIX System V with a COBOL interface.

n  Designed, built and implemented multi-dimensional advanced retail merchandise planning system (VB.Net, SQL Server, AS/400 interface)

o   Automated top-down and bottoms-up hierarchical planning
