ClubCom, LLC (A Division of Zoom Media Corp.), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania                                      2008-Present

Worldwide provider of out-of-home entertainment and advertising operations for over 2,500 worldwide installations, with offices in the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, and Canada, and annual sales of          $10.5 billion.

Vice President of Technology

Recruited to turn around an underperforming department and lead a team of 5 direct reports and outsourced resources to create, manage, and update all in-house software and database systems. Act as technical liaison to satellite offices and major customers and direct the completion of all system enhancement and modification requests. Analyzed department operations for areas of improvement and realigned to focus on the core software system rebuilds, improving productivity, sales and efficiencies. Oversaw and assisted in stabilizing and updating back-end systems to improve processes.

n       Led team charged with converting Zoom Media’s Social Venue media players to the ClubCom player for an annual operating cost reduction of over $300,000 in subscription fees, accomplished under an accelerated timetable to accommodate subscription renewals of existing player systems. Created a conversion utility in-field, realizing a $150,000 cost avoidance.

n       Collected data, wrote functional specifications, managed the development, and implemented an end-user content management system providing the ability to create customized flash animations and marketing content for playback on the ClubCom player platform and allowing content management scalability by reducing the number of internal resources required to generate customized venue content.

n       Implemented an issue tracking system to better manage problems and enhancements, reduce response time to critical issues, and monitor lower priority issues.

n       Developed, implemented, and managed project plans for all major system development projects, enabling communication of realistic timelines of system enhancements to business users and customers and allowing sales and marketing departments to proactively market new features to prospective customers, capturing greater market share.

n       Identified and resolved critical functionality failures of an aging code base and implemented enhancements to provide greater system stability and process integrity. As a result, key customers in the US, UK, and Australia were retained.

Oversaw all day-to-day activities of the company, with total P&L responsibility and led strategic planning as well as financial oversight. Grew customer base by leading executive-level presentations to capture the sale and by establishing long-term business relationships via meticulous follow-up and expert customer support. Areas of technical focus included all technology needs evaluations, Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ) responses, software requirements gathering, software functional specifications, software development, testing, implementation, and software support.

n       Designed, developed, and implemented an ecommerce gift card site launched in time for the client’s 4th quarter sales cycle, which generated additional revenues for the client of $120,000.

n       Project managed the full design, rapid development, and launch of a customized enterprise-level, multi-tier, and scalable accounting and inventory management system. Implemented the system live on the customer site within 9 months and included the conversion and migration of customer’s existing inventory and accounting data.

n       Conceptualized, built, and implemented ecommerce initiatives, which provided an additional $250,000 in revenue in one year.
